When Fly, our youngest Border Collie, arrived at Pipers Farm she was just 4 months old. She's now 10 months and though she has grown a lot, still acts like the playful puppy she was when she arrived here from her breeders in Wales! As you can imagine at the time it was quite a shock for Chip who is getting on to 8 years now- she certainly keeps Chip on her toes, but actually they get on very well together despite the difference in age.
Fly is just like any puppy; mad and mischievous but as you can see from the pictures, undeniably cute! This means that although she has managed to chew through washing machine pipes, escape from just about any pen that has been constructed for her and likes to collect odd socks, she is invariably always forgiven!
Fly is proudly registered as part of the International Sheep Dog Society, a guarantee of pedigree that for most dogs can be traced back over 100 years. The Sheep Dog instinct is certainly there- whilst out on a walk if you turn your back for a second she will be in the next field rounding up the sheep! She also loves trying to muster our Devon Red Ruby cows. She is becoming a real help on the farm now though as we have over a 100 new lambs in our fields at the moment!
