Christmas is coming...and the geese are getting fat!

Our geese are looking great at the moment, the warmer weather means there has been abundance of grass for them over the autumn which we top up with a small amount of wholemeal. At the moment they're spending their days preening their Hereford bull companion!

We will be selling fantastic 2 week hung whole Geese for Christmas this year, or if the prospect of cooking a whole goose is a little daunting or there's smaller numbers to feed, we always have our popular 'Simplest Goose'.

Pipers Farm geese get ready for take off!

Grown on the hills of the beautiful Exe Valley our white geese get to spread their wings every day in one of the most lovely spots in the West Country. We like to think that apart from all the exercise they are getting and fantastic grazing, maybe the view has something to do with their melting texture and depth of flavour!

Beautiful live, once dry plucked and hung they look stunning. With each goose we give full cooking instructions and our own recipe for apple, onion and prune stuffing, which perfectly compliments the fabulous rich flavour of the meat.

Fill the cavity with the stuffing and cook on a rack to allow any excess fat to run into the tray below. Remember to collect all the goose fat to create superb roast potatoes.
